Sonata Arctica has been confirmed to play at this year’s Kuopio RockCock Festival (Kuopio, Finland) taking place from 31.7.-01.08.2009. The showday will be announced later.

The first summer festival show for 2009 has been confirmed. Sonata Arctica will perform at Norway Rock Festival in Kvinesdal (N) taking place 09.-12.07.2009. The showday will be announced later.

The venue for the show in St. Petersburg, Russia on November 29th has been changed from Roks Club to Sport and Concert Complex of St. Petersburg.

The shows in Oslo, Norway (Nov. 1st) and Huskvarna, Sweden (Oct. 31st) of the upcoming European tour are sold out.

Sonata Arctica are having their first two studio albums re-issued in the UK (October 6th) and in Finland (October 8th) via Spinefarm Records. Both Collector’s re-issues of ‘Ecliptica’ and ‘Silence’ come with bonus material, expanded artwork, background essays, plus sleeve notes from Tony Kakko himself. Previously, these two remastered versions have only been released in Japan (August 20th) via Marquee/Avalon.

Due to more cancelled Nightwish shows (Baltimore and New York), Sonata Arctica will be headlining the last remaining shows of this tour. Tickets for the cancelled Nightwish shows will be refunded. This doesn’t apply for the last show of the tour (Penny Arcade, Rochester) which was a Sonata Arctica headline show in the first place already.

Nightwish had to cancel the show tonight at Tremont Music Hall, Charlotte as well. Sonata Arctica, however, will perform a headline show instead.

Due to hurricane-related issues the show in “The Meridian”, Houston had to be cancelled.
