Only The Broken Hearts (make you beautiful)

(written by Tony Kakko)

So life, your gilded leafs have turned
From “once upon a time” to “darkest hour”
Ember to inferno- the ending is stronger
I burned myself for a page of rhymes

Only the broken hearts make you beautiful
And one has got to be mine
Only a broken heart, turned cynical
Lights my final rhyme

Someone broke the frame and now my picture´s gone
Remember what I look like?
You can keep my old umbrella
I´ll have my rainy day, thank you for all the pain

That´s all I wanted..

Only the broken hearts make you beautiful
And one has got to be mine
Only a broken heart, turned cynical
Love lost, a typical rhyme

Only the broken hearts make you beautiful
And one has got to be mine
Only a broken heart, turned cynical
Love lost, a typical rhyme

Only the broken hearts make you beautiful
And one has got to be mine
Only a broken heart, turned cynical
Love lost, a typical rhyme

Shitload Of Money

(written by Tony Kakko)

Yeah!
She got a shitload of money
The night´s a mile high deja vu
Taking her wings and halo down to boom town, yeah

She got a shitload of money
When the night is over
She walks away no wings, no halo

There’s an angel with no glory
There´s a book without a story
Wings road stained will now descend
Teary smile to rip your heart in two…yay…

it is an ordinary day dream
to save an angel, be her plaything

but now you know

She got a shitload of money
Shiny wings dark sky
All chains only glorify freedom

Nobody knows how she got it (what she´s got)
She got a shitload of money
A fallen angel paid for her halo

Underhanded, they are falling
All the trump cards they are folding
oh, the greenback days are over now
Lady Luck took off with her new love

“I´m never
in for the penny, but always in for a pounding when I’m playing
Put your mouth where my money is, the world is now for sale, hon!!”
So many open mouths, one silver spoon

She got a shitload of money
Shiny wings dark sky
All chains only glorify freedom

Nobody knows how she got it (what she´s got)
She got a shitload of money
A fallen angel paid for her halo

Shitload of money, shitload of money, all gone, yeah.
shitload of money, shitload of money.

She got a shitload of money
Shiny wings dark sky
All chains only glorify freedom

The neon-light lit night
She got a shitload of money
A fallen angel paid for her halo

She got a shitload of money
Shiny wings dark sky
All chains only glorify freedom

She got a shitload of money
Shitload of money
She got a tale to spin but no halo

Losing My Insanity

(written by Tony Kakko)

The siren’s sounding, the screetch is warning, all is ending
Night of nights, I’m a child of the world now derailed
They found me crying in the dark I’m not accepting
If I sleep I am there, yet I’m always too late

Seems to me I can do in a dream almost anything
If only dreams were real…

Losing my insanity would mean I’m losing everything
The dream where I can fly
Losing my insanity

I’m not awake, I’m not asleep
I’m filthy, dirty only in my dreams

When you can’t see me I am standing on the hill
I’m the king of this land on the palm of your hand
Dreams are deceiving, I arrive while I am leaving
I’m the bird in the sky, you are aiming at me

Seems to me…

Losing my insanity…
Losing my insanity…

The imagination I feed every night, to be able to fly in the deep
blue skies
Up there the rivers are crystal clear

Losing my insanity would mean I’m losing everything
The dream where I can fly
I’m losing my insanity

Somewhere Close To You

(written by Tony Kakko)

Hold me when I´m standing
when i´ve fallen, we´re disbanding
You are so goddamn beautiful, but
Unstable, your joke got old.

Sick one trick pony
you fed my fire,
Now I´m rising ever higher
And the red ripples multiply as
reflections rise from the sea

From the sea

Take away the pain inflected on me
The hunger you´re letting me feed

I bleed my rust on the roses
that once have chained us, me to you
Your dying love is a rose
I will bury somewhere close to you

When we are dancing
I hear worlds, you’re still fading
I feel safe, yet unsatisfied
Soaked in trance and disgrace

You are so jaded, keep me sedated
with your nonsense, deeds and phrases
and if suns still set in your eyes
you get to see my face glow

Take away the pain inflected on you
The hunger you´re letting me feed

Bleed my rust on the roses
that once have chained us, me to you
Your dying love is a rose
I will bury, somewhere close to you

You- bleed your rust on the roses
that once have chained us, me to you
Your dying love is a rose
I will bury somewhere close to you

I bleed my rust on the roses
that once have chained us, me to you
Your dying love is a rose
I will bury somewhere close to you

I Have A Right

(written by Tony Kakko)

Give me the right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

I have a right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

“Father, there´s a little flower, beautiful and different, all alone, all alone.
Is it so, dad, I´m not supposed to make the world anew? And be like you?…
Am I you?!

Give me the gift, to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

I have a right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

right to be heard, to be seen, to be loved, to be me

You made it clear right from the start, I am to take your sour heart within, one sad day
But I will never teach my son embittered history so tried and true,
‘cause I’m not you!

I have a right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

I have a right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to have every gift I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

Give me the eyes -so I see
gimme ears -so I hear,
gimme me love -so I know what love is
give me the freedom to think, to be me
…give something

I have a right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something (good)

(excerpts from the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of the Child, plain language version)

You have the special right to grow up and to develop physically and spiritually in a healthy and normal way, free and with dignity.
You have the right to love and understanding
Your parents have special responsibilities for your education and guidance.
You should be taught peace, understanding, tolerance and friendship among all people.

So, give me the gift to hear, to see, the love, the freedom to choose the things I feel
to be right for the world you’ll leave me, give something…

Give me the right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

I have a right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
in something

Give me the right to be heard
to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need to be me,
to be safe, to believe…
give something
right to be heard, to be seen, to be loved, to be free
to be everything I need…

Alone In Heaven

(written by Tony Kakko)

Welcome to heaven, left from the lights, the number seven
You have it all now, now that you’ve come to see the light
Take it all in, an open mind
Now you wonder: What if your heaven was someone else’s hell?

Heaven. What the hell would I do in that place without you?
In heaven, alone in heaven, alone heaven, alone in heaven…

Welcome to heaven! Can you believe the things you see here?!
Forever winter, summer of love, spring or fall
It doesn’t matter anymore
Alone you wonder,
can this be heaven if my best friends burn in hell?

Heaven. What the hell would I do in that place without you?
In heaven, alone in heaven, alone heaven, alone in heaven…

I can’t see you here. Where have you all gone now?
Don’t know, but it hurts, to be all alone
On the field where the stones grow dead names

I’ll never leave you behind,
It’s one for all, and all for life

Still I wonder,
Why go to heaven, when my best friends burn in hell?

Heaven. What the hell would I do in that place without you?
In heaven, alone in heaven, alone heaven, alone in heaven…

Heaven. What the hell would I do in that place without you?
In heaven, alone in heaven, alone heaven, alone in heaven…

I can’t see you here. Where have you all gone now?
Don’t know, but it hurts, to be all alone
On the field where the stones grow dead names

Heaven,
Whatta hell would I do in that place without you, now?
Whatta hell would I do in that place without you?
Heaven

The Day

(written by Tony Kakko)

Sea full of diamonds, good morning new day
I’ll fix us breakfast, and the newspaper says
The company will lay off 5000 souls today

“I wish I was a child with no worries back then”, I say
“Kiss me and smile…”, you reply, in your way
You wake up the children for school…for the last time
For suddenly our beautiful life blurs away and the world breaks into pieces

‘Cause today the sea came in.
The wave came and stole my loved ones
I write these lines alone
on the rooftop of my home
I’m adrift on the vast oceans, can you feel me?
I will not see you again, even if I live through
The day when the sea came…
day when the sea came…
day when the sea came in…

I trace the scenes our children once played
names carved in wood, all the words, bound to fade
I believe, my love, your memory and dreams deserve to live again tomorrow

My love…
We built this world together, we lived in here together
and shared the fun together, bore the sorrows, all together

My friend…
we’ll win the fight together, we’ll lose the game together
greet the heroes all together, and forever, we’ll remember

My world…
We built this world together, we lived in here together
and shared the fun together, bore the sorrows, all together

And as long as we’re together, in spirit, yet together,
you’re the air that I am kissing
you will always be there…
I can feel you in the wind…
I can feel you in the wind…

Cinderblox

(written by Tony Kakko)

If I one day found my way back home
One more ride for the hell of it

If I one day found my way back home
I would tell you how I love you so

One more time for the road tonight, honey
One more try just for the hell of it

Cinder blocks are keeping me inside
Wall so thick, cold yet benign

One more time for the road tonight, honey
One more try just for the hell of it

Can I stay away from you
if I get out of here soon?
Would the road be paved by my mistakes, by the law or by you?
Every wall in here is blue,
Every man here knows you too
We have seen your every curve,
The sole good purpose you serve

yeah!

…I’m safe, I’m safe in here from you, I know
‘cause you can’t make me do things I would not otherwise do

One more time for the road tonight, honey
One more try just for the hell of it

when you’re done with your wining and dining
you make a man do things that wind him up in jail

Don't Be Mean

(written by Tony Kakko)

I am lost with no key
And I worry there’s no easy way out of this place
I’m the pain that I cause.
Must I let out all the evil to be healed?

To be healed. Is it really what I want?
Don’t be mean now, you know how I feel.
Give relief, don’t be mean to me
Just leave me the key

For this once, it’s my turn to be the strong one, you’re in pain, I try to leave with grace
Say hello to my tear, I have only one, I kept it safe for this moment

To be healed, is that really what we want?
Don’t be mean, it’s not what we need now
Give relief, don’t be mean to me
That’s not what we need.
Believe in me, don’t be mean to me
Just leave me the key

To be healed, is it really what we want
Don’t be mean, that’s not what we need
Be relieved, don’t be mean to me
just do as you please.
When you leave, don’t be mean to me
Just leave me the key

So when you leave, don’t be mean
Leave in peace.

Wildfire, Part: II - One With The Mountain

(written by Tony Kakko)

Years have passed since The Family was driven out of the village by force.
The people had won, but as some of the old folks knew, this victory
was not final.
The unrest would not end but only cease for a while, as it had always done
since the beginning of times.
Hence, they taught their offspring to love and hate, respect
and fear, thinking it would be the best way to avoid the inevitable
The last page of the book read:
“Children: Despite our best efforts, we have grown weak.
One day when you least expect it, during a party or harvest festival,
a man, not quite a man, yet not quite a beast, will walk up the road and
join with his family, the nature. Unless humanity has found harmony before
that… you all will perish.”

“Hello”

So here I walk up the road back home,
This place is me, my skin, blood and bones
You’d have to remember in order to fear me
“Your past will now burn down your town”

There is a mountain, in the horizon
Rebuilding the fire, the flames are arising
I am the flint and the kindler they need

This is where we used to live
You were scared. You all were.
You cast me out, all for one, family.
you draw my blood, they will burn down your town

There is a mountain, in the horizon
Rebuilding the fire, the flames are arising
Strong is the fear, and the anger it breeds

I can take all the blame, for the sake of my name
Our blood on your hands, running hot in my veins
they say: “Do yourself well and stay away from your family” - what??!

Build a wall on the hill and write a book out of fear
Then aim a gun at your son to keep him safe from us

You´re not foolish, you’re insane. They would die for me. Twice.

*Build a wall on the hill, write a book out of fear
You are out of your minds, blind; your love´s the killing kind… *

Children play,
your riddles and games
are hurtful, this pains me to know, they will teach them to fear.
But if anything, they teach them to hate
The bells of my fate play my songs,

but I don´t want to dance anymore
But I don´t want to dance anymore
Cause I don´t want to dance with fire!

Love is the infinite power
You´re gonna sing when the mountain tells you,
Now, you’ll sing, you’ll bow, as we dance around you
In a dream, you believe, you have seen our soul,
You have seen our heart,
You have seen through the wall,
You have seen what we are,
but what have you learned?

I can take all the blame, for the sake of my name
Our blood on your hands, running hot in the veins
they say: “Do yourself well and stay away from your family” -what??!

Build a wall on the hill, write a book out of fear
Aim a gun at your son, keep him safe from us

You’re not foolish, you’re insane. They will love me till death

Build a wall on the hill, write a book out of fear
Aim a gun at your sons, make them all read it
You are out of your minds, your love is the killing kind…

Write a book about us, family infamous
Memorize every leaf, every word, every phrase
See your name on the last page…
consumed by fire

…The bells of my fate play a song, but I don´t want to dance anymore
…but I don´t want to dance anymore
… Cause I don´t want to dance with fire!

The innocence slain, the price you have paid
So tonight, if you teach your own children to hate
Remember to tell of both heaven and hell
Never open those gates for the weak…

Because we’re up on the mountain…
We are one with the mountain…
Cause we are the mountain, one with the Mountain
Wildfire Mountain…
Wildfire…

Wildfire, Part: III - Wildfire Town, Population: 0

(written by Tony Kakko)

You didn’t come in peace, wear a flower in your hair
Didn´t mean to harm anyone of us in here
You need what you take, like a candle needs a snowflake

The roots are alive and the bodies will rise
You can try the same, but you’ll never have a dice
Waging a war to a mountain; death, eruption

Know that if Mountain wants you all begone, thou wilt be gone

You bring in the machines… “fire in the hole!”
Money is the power, morals gotta go
Tomorrow comes and the law is not a problem.
Corruption.

On every standing nail a hammer is to fall
No value in the oddities, evolution’s gone
Talk is cheap but the suits are not

Thy will be done, thou wilt be dead

You dig another hole in the one you´re standing in
Nothing is enough for Generation Greed
Angels die for the cause, long live the faction

If you have access, “it is fine to reave!”
You only destroy to be able to leave
this planet one day. What a perfect day!

Thy will be done, Thy will be done,
Thy will be done, thou wilt be dead.

Fiat iustitia, Pereat Mundus
Tulkoon oikeus, tuhoutukoon maailma

Seen so many of you die, thy will be gone. Yay!

You are wasting your life, use a pen as a knife
Always wanna take more than you ask for
All your promises reek, gluttony makes you weak.
Our planet is ever so grateful,
grateful when your offspring´s gone: done!

Gomorrah be gone, revolution, a new spin
You don´t wanna dance in the ballroom you´re in
Mountain gives no hope, line up to die now.

You are in a battle you´re not supposed to win
Still you run to your death, face it with a grin
Run home, kids, while you still have homes

A place where you learn about harmony and peace
These you never knew, wish you would, but never will
It’s in your blood, but your blood runs thin

The Mountain still wants to believe, you can turn the page again
You lose your hope here, one by one
Listen to me, son, you’ve got nowhere to run

You are not perfect at anything, least of all in things we were always good at

slow to learn, you are slow to learn, children grow and burn, ‘cause you’ll never learn…

Thy will be done, Thy will be done,
Thy will be done, Thy will be, Thy will be…
…thou wilt be dead.

Species, generations. Extinct? Evolved?
What you call progress, must be put on hold
To let you have your way is not an option

“Using his burgeoning intelligence, this most successful of all mammals
has exploited the environment to produce food for an ever increasing population.
Instead of controlling the environment for the benefit of the population,
perhaps it is time we control the population to allow the survival of the environment.”

Tonight I Dance Alone

(written by Tony Kakko)

Sometimes we find things we’re not looking for
and we lose the sense of reason

Sometimes we lose what we are caring for
and then face the day without them

My life, my home, my you

Sometimes we fail to say how hurt we are
When the word we fear speaks treason

Don´t wanna be there when my Cupid dies
from a wound by his own arrow

Here’s to life, my home, my you

I raise a glass ‘n drown my sorrow
when I´m on my own
I dry my eyes on a shoulder
but it´s not my own

I cannot hold you, my tears are made of stone
I feel a tap on my shoulder, but… tonight I dance alone

One-Two-Free-Fall

(written by Tony Kakko)

He said:
“Sit down and hear what I say, little prince”
I’ve taught you to live by the book ever since
you came here, one lifetime ago.
Your brothers and sisters are gone, they all know…"

They sang in both choirs, the sinners and saints
I told you how twisted a picture it paints
for us to behold, a disgrace.
When a new morning dawns, it spits on my face

One, two, free-fall,
down in the well with them all
I am not their slave anymore
Cut my leash, I´m not gonna bow and adore
I will rave and plunder

Life in a dell, in my private little cell
I can see one face everywhere
Thank you for this hell.

Somethings you see will never go away
This is the shit I confront every day
We huffed while they bluffed their way in
The Good play fair even if the odds are thin

One, two, free-fall,
down in the well with it all
I am not their slave anymore
Cut my leash, I´m not gonna bow and adore
I will let them drown there

I light you a candle and carry you away
from the walls of this little town today
I will not see the Light, it’s a blight, if I´m right
so tonight I will fight my way out of their sight

You think you built a fortress, that your life’s a citadel.
But at the same time now there’s something wrong with you
All your vivid dreams and nightmares will now fall down from the sky
When it hits you, the painless jump and fall

One, two, free-fall
